Gavilan Sport Horses offers quality horse training and lessons. The setting is secluded and peaceful, located on the beautiful 800 acre Vally of the Moon Ranch in Gavilan, NM. The Ranch makes a great setting for training trail horses as the varied terrain and abundant wildlife make great training aids. The horse facilities are modest but accommodating and includes; round pen, arena, and paddocks with shelter.

Our trainer, Danielle Shattuck is a talented, hardworking trainer and has been training horses for over 13 years and prides herself in training safe, confident, happy riding horses. Danielle specializes in the Arabian horse but loves and welcomes horses of all breeds.

Prices
Horse training per ride/ground session: $20/hour
Lessons: $25/hour
All long term training prices $550/30 days (Includes board*) Training will be approximately 30 hours of training per month depending on horse’s individual needs. Included will be two one hour lessons per month for owner, with owner’s horse (Lessons do not carry over to next month).
Long term services include:
Starting horses under saddle for horses three years old & older
Ground Training for horses of all ages
Conditioning show or trail horses of all ages
Performance Training

Off site lessons and training may be available depending on location at an additional road fee charge of $0.30 per mile

*Board includes paddock with shelter; Grass hay fed twice daily, Stalls cleaned daily, Water maintenance, Blanketing and Turnout as needed. (Horse's owner will be responsible for providing additional supplements if needed)
