Family meeting 2/22/2009
Present for meeting:
Diane
Jacob
Marcus
Chris
Ron for 2nd half
Orchard Location
Location of orchard was discussed and may depend on location of future greenhouse.
Barriers for goat-proofing need to be figured out as well.
Test trees and barriers are to be set up at likely locations to see if they can survive.
Goat Barn
The posts for a hay storage barn attached to the main goat barn are in place. Materials are needed to finish it. A time is to be scheduled for milling wood.
Amtgard Event
Scheduled for the Labor Day weekend (Sep 3 - 7).
Chris is one of the directors of the event this year and has arranged for $4 per person to cover the feast with a possible $7 extra for people that want an extra special feast.
Portable kitchen was discussed for food sales at the campsite instead of having people walk to the main building. The oven + grill, a range top, and water heater would need to be set up on propane and on some sort of platform or vehicle. The bread truck is a possibility.
Work weekends for site improvements (Shower, firepit, campsite water diversion, and pillory) will be scheduled soon so people can plan ahead. The possible castle project would be after these were done.
Chris is to research vegetable oil for killing mosquitoes.
Castle
Still in the early planning phases, project would be funded and built by Amtgard members.
Adobe Making Workshop
Get this on the schedule to make sure volunteers and people interested in learning can make it. Contact Chris Cherry and Adam to see if they are interested in helping run the workshop. Best time is likely May-June.
Pinon Harvesting for 2010
We need to research sales methods for getting the most we can. This year a lot of places were selling nuts in shell for $20-25 a lb.
Website
Order flow for products on the website was discussed. The previous cart software was not working so new software has been installed.
A class for adding products and content to the site will happen after everything is running correctly.
